Welcome!
I am always looking for an easier way to ninja through keyboard commands There are often many ways to do the same thing but, sometimes there is a quicker way and easier to remember. Have you ever found yourself pressing control c, control v, alt tab, control x, alt tab, control v…? It is like you are doing some type of keyboard Olympics!
Not to mention the frustration of alt tabbing back and losing your original space! For Jaws users there is a simpler way! The FS Clipboard allows you to copy and/or cut many items all at one time to one clipboard.
Let the Ninjaing Begin!
Charley You’re Up to Bat First!
First select text and press control c (charley).
Jaws will speak “copied text to clipboard”.
Once you have selected another portion of text that you would like to copy to the clipboard press insert + Window’s key + c (charley).
Jaws will announce “upend selection to clipboard”.
**Note this keystroke has been changed from Window’s key + c (charley) to insert + Window’s key + c (charley). It was updated so there was not interference with Window’s keystrokes in Window’s 8.
Oh Wait What Did I Do?
To view the contents of your FS clipboard press the layer keystroke
Insert + spacebar.
You will hear a little ping noise once this is done.
Once you hear the noise press the letter c (charley) to view the FS clipboard contents.
Once you are done viewing the FS Clipboard press escape to close the clipboard.
Okay Charley You Are Done, Victor It is Your Turn!
Once you have copied all the text you desire then navigate to the area in which you would like to paste the text.
Once you are there press control v (Victor) to paste the text.
Charley Your Back!
If you want to start over, select text and press control + c (charley)
A dialog box will appear asking you to overwrite the contents:
Press “yes” to do so or, “no” to keep the current contents in the FS clipboard.
What Makes This Awesome?
It allows you to stay in one area and continually copy text without having to continue to leave the screen to copy and paste.
It gives your alt and tab keys some needed rest
You are also able to copy lists out of order
It makes copy and pasting quicker
If you are a college student and are reading your textbook and want to quickly copy definitions or important points to a clipboard without having to stop navigating through your text page the FS Clipboard would be handy!
