In this feature of iPhone 101 we’re going to show you some new features from the Seeing AI app. We’ve done quite a few podcasts on the Seeing AI app, and if you check the show notes you can go check them all out. Even the introductory where we talked to the developers about coming out with this Swiss Army blade knife of an app for the visually impaired from Microsoft. This demo was previously released on That Blind Tech Show, and we’ve been getting quite a few requests through email and messages to break it on out of there and put it into the iPhone 101 series. All right, check this out. From Seeing AI. Now you can explore photos, identify objects that are in the photo and their location just by sliding your finger across the screen. But that’s not all. Now you can adjust your channels, you can arrange them any way you want to now. Just open up your Seeing AI app. Open Seeing AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All right, this is a list of channels. It’ll start at the top and go to the bottom. And then in this list of channels, they’re on the left, and on the right is your option to be able to move the channel wherever you prefer. So I’m going to go down this list and then I’ll move over to the right and give you a demonstration of moving one of the channels. So let’s see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now with a single finger swipe left to right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or I can start moving my finger up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let go. There it is. So I’m going to slide my finger from the top to the bottom across the different channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All right, so that’s how you can move your channels to how you prefer to have them set up. So remember, when you come to one of the channels in this list, when you swipe left to right and land on reorder, you can double tap and hold anywhere on the screen as long as you just heard it’s on the reorder. So double tap and hold and slide it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Move below light. Move above light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeff Thompson:
There you go. You don’t have to be on that button specifically, visually or anything. Once you have it highlighted, you can just do a single finger, double tap anywhere and start moving your finger up or down on the screen. Release when you want to drop it, and then go verify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay, I’m going to start right dead center from left to right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay. I was able to go from left to right and I got music on the left side and the right side, so the plant is in the middle. Now try it from the top dead center, and slide from top to bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There we go. That’s one way of using it. Now, if I single finger left to right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High text blocks. Sometimes there might be text, like someone sitting there reading a newspaper. You don’t want to read the news. Well, you might want to read the newspaper, but if there’s too much text in the scene and you just want to figure out the objects, then you can shut that off by double tapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
