Every day we hear of how the coronavirus has impacted people all over the world, but have we heard specific reports of its effect on blind and visually impaired individuals?&nbsp;<br><br>In this sixth episode in our series, Around the World with COVID-19 from a Blindness Perspective, we hear from Brooklyn Rodden Kelly from California. Thus far we have spanned the globe with Blind citizens Around the world, from Australia and Malaysia, to the united kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada. Now we hear a first-hand report from Brooklyn with her unique perspective on how the coronavirus has affected her in the states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brooklyn lives in Sacramento, the capitol of California, located in the&nbsp;northern part of the state. In this episode, she walks us through the evolution of the Corona virus, beginning with \u201cpatient Zero\u201d entering the area in early February, the influx in COVID-positive cases and the increasingly restrictive measures imposed by its Governor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Brooklyn delves into her job as a \u201cmission essential\u201d worker at a nearby Air Force base, the demands on her daily commute, and the adjustments she has made to remain committed to the job, sharing details around those day-to-day tasks in which we all engage, such as catching an Uber, getting our hair cut or styled, chatting with friends via Zoom, or just going out for a cup of coffee with a friend. She is also looking forward to the upcoming training of a new guide dog as her training school re-opens and things loosen up around the state. we hope you enjoy and learn from this in-depth episode focusing on the impact which the coronavirus has had on Brooklyn&#8217;s daily routines, her life as a blind individual and the overall effect on the citizens in the state of California in the United States.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>special thanks go out to Chee Chau, for his beautiful song and titled wayfarer.
